While conducting my corps on a sweeping right flank maneuver Thursday of last week, a Rebel shell burst close overhead, seriously wounding my mount and throwing me senseless to the ground. I quickly regained my bearings and saw that the vets were examining "Gateway," which horse I had been riding for more than 20 years!

"We cannot save him," the vets proclaimed. "His motherboard will not accept a reboot and he resists all efforts at rousing. You must look to a new mount!"

"So be it," I replied as I drew my revolver and relieved Gateway's suffering. Then slowly turning my revolver upon the vets and fixing them with a withering stare I declared, "But I will not ride anything from the Ten Windows stables. You must draw me a replacement mount from the XP Reserve! It is all that I require and will accept."

This is being done as I write this from my wife's, app-heavy, frilly buggy and I ask all of my current competitors and comrades for their patience in my full return.

I will retire in the meantime to my tent and will mournfully drink salutes to the fallen Gateway.

You're okay with using a now unsupported operating system way past its expiration date?

I too still have a Windows XP system for testing purposes, but I don't dare attach it to the Internet. Way too risky.

I understand your apprehensiveness about Windows 10. But Windows 7 is a worthy successor to Windows XP. Highly recommended.

Bite the bullet and go for a new horse. The old horses are all destined for the glue factory.

MicroSoft Announces Support Discontinuance for All Windows Operating Systems

Biological Key to New Millennial View OS To Be Implanted In Customer's Brains

MicroSoft pulled the plug on its long-lived and archaic Windows operating systems, claiming that its new Millennial View system, which operates without the user's fingers, will expedite Information Technology to even greater heights of satisfaction. Moreover, the Supreme Court has ruled that individuals attempted to thwart advancement of these newer systems by adhering to their older, time-wasting and defunct systems will be taxed an additional $75 for each minute they access the Internet. In a remarkable turn of events, the Windows supporters who gathered in Seattle to protest the discontinuance, were summarily detained and later executed for their intemperate stupidity...

And then the Millennial View system issued directives on how to properly worship it.

Hello Joe,

You must be referring to our match against the slopes (or rear now) of Kennesaw Mountain and the sweeping right flank maneuver.

Your mount must have been tired of riding towards the Palmetto State, instead of assaulting my lines.

Cheers,
