Hi guys,

While doing a quick search for any new ACW pc games I came across this new site....

https://warofrights.com/

Looks like a first person multi-player on-line civil war game.

If anyone joins in and tries it let me know what you think. Looks like there are fees that you pay with PayPal.

Graphics look amazing.

Very impressive! The Cryengine program is very definitely an incredible tool for the 3D world game developers. I can see where a player could get captured in that world for a very long time.

It isn't clear how they will handle player fighting. The graphics are superb. You pay anywhere fro $15 to $1321 to join the Kickstarter at different ranks. Higher payments will get you into the Alpha and Beta testing.

From the point of view of first person shooter it may work like WW II Online: Europe where players can jump into on going battles by logging in. But the big question is how they will handle lack of players. Will they fill the regiments out with Computer Players (CP) or suffer the problems WW II had with many battles being fought by half a dozen players. This is actually easier to do in a modern battle because while coordination makes you more effective it isn't necessary to function. The Civil War requires you to attack Burnside Bridge with more than 2 or 3 men.

I am trying to figure out whether the Alpha is available right now. I may jump in just to look at the game but I suspect there will a ND agreement so I won't be able to pass on much about what I see unless they allow releases of information.

Nice uniform Ken. How is boot camp going? :0)

Try a little target practice and let me know how that goes.

Apparently, they think we really know how to shoot. Hit every target at about 100 yards. Which is a lot better than I would do with a real gun. My understanding is that your accuracy goes down if you get tired and as your gun fouls.

Supposedly Saturday they are having an in game get together for some mass drilling and demos at the training camp. See how that goes.

They had a mass get together last Saturday to try to make some U-Tube videos. Trying to get us into a line of battle required a lot yelling. I didn't get a good shot of it since I was in the front line. We eventually did form up a two rank line and fire some volleys off by squad, rank and file.

All went pretty well until they decided to try to have us march in route formation. When you only have a forward first person view it is hard to coordinate with someone adjacent to you. The march quickly turned into a Chinese fire drill.

Ah, the plight of a new recruit! What is up with all of those rifles lying around?

Here's a video of our Saturday drill. Things went well until they tried to get us to march. Then a lot of cursing.
