"The Gray Wall" - by Don Troiani

Battlefield Honors for General John Dragan

Officers of the Confederate States of America (CSA) Armies & Fellow Club Members,

I am immensely pleased to gather everyone, again here today, to celebrate this officer of the Confederate States of America (CSA) Armies who has shown for almost 15 years his great prowess upon the battlefield and his unrivaled number of battlefield appearances and Club points.

John has also without hesitation volunteered or accepted any command that he has been assigned to. He served at every level of command in the former Army of Alabama (AoA) and was an integral part of that army since almost the day he joined till close to the final years of it being active. He currently continues to serve as Division Commander of 3rd (Hindman’s) Division a part of II (Stewart's) Corps, Army of Tennessee (AoT) and he is on his second tour of duty as a CSA Cabinet Secretary on the Club Cabinet. But more on John's service later, as this post is for battlefield action.

John has amassed a stunning 8,827.520 points, making him the officer with the most points, that is currently active in the Club. He also has played about 906 games, which by far as I can tell is also the most of any officer currently active. As General Nick Kunz often points out, what is unique for John is a little over 6,600 of those points come from games played.

We in Richmond have been playing catch-up on years of backlogged honors for many, including John. Of the 906 games John has played, all but 66 have been battles, giving the Union a mighty host on the battlefield. For this he will be awarded his 9th P. G. T. Beauregard Medal of Recognition and his 19th Order of the Purple Eagle Medal of Recognition.

It is with great pride that we honor John with the following for his unassailable commitment to gaming in our Club:

I contributed to a lot of those. We have been long time adversaries.

Congratulations, I guess!

Just back from Hawaii to spot my friend John some Kona coffee spiked with some confiscated fine drink taken on the fields of Franklin. Salute.

General Dragan:

Now where are you going to hang all those awards now that the Civil War Room is grandchildren's bedroom?
