Playing the computer in HPS Corinth Battle at Purdy, and I noticed some hexes on the outer edge of the map with confederate flags on them. When I click on them they show Exit and zero points. What is the propose. I tried looking it up in the game manual on the CD but it doesn't say much
respectfully,

The more units the confederates exit from those hexes the more the vp they will get.if you retake a exit hex you do not get credit for the points of the units that were exited.

Interesting I did not know you could negate the exited VP if you retake the hexes.

You cannot capture an exit hex.

BTW, I assume your playing the lastest version. I'm not sure if this is true of all the earlier versions, but I would think so.

I just solitaired a Campaign Gettysburg scenario and the exited points were NOT lost when the exit hex was recaptured at the end of the game. For what game does this occur???

i think it was a misunderstanding or i mistated it. if you exit a hex and the enemy captures the exit hex you will not lose any vp points. Nor will the other side gain any vp for taking the hex.

Exactly.

So to answer the original question: If the exit hex is represented by a Union flag, then for every Union combat untit that occupies that hex, and then is removed from the map, will receive VPs in the same amount that they are worth to the enemy as killed. You can see exactly how many points have exited by looking at the hex and observing the current point total.

Also, a Confederate occupation of that exit hex will not change the flag nationality, nor will it affect the VPs already gained by the Union. A Confederate occupation of that Union exit hex will only prevent other Union units from exiting until such time the hex is reopened to Union units.
