I was curious if anyone in the club has used this program that allows you to convert boardgames to computerized games. I have some old Avalon Hill games such as D-Day and the Guns of August that I wouldn't mind converting. What are your thoughts on the program?

All comments from experienced users, both positive and negative, are welcomed and appreciated.

Hi,
I have had ADC II now for several years, but have never really used it.
There used to be a website where a lot of games had been converted,
including House Divided, which I downloaded and tried to play solitaire,
but lacked the patience at the time to figure out the ADC mechanics. If
you are really interested I wouldn't think it would be that hard, though.
I will try to find the site where the wargames were alreadyconverted and post it.

Hi,
Here is the address: http://209.216.35.195/

It is called Die Hauptkampflinie I think and can be accessed from the
ADC2 info at HPSSIMS.

Yes ADC2 is good. However, it's worth checking out Cyberboard (http://cyberboard.brainiac.com/index.html) and Vassal (http://www.vassalengine.org/community/index.php) too. Both are free.

I use ADC 2 for many board games and it works very well for most of them, but the more interactions there are in a game - as GR/D Second Front - the longer it takes to complete a turn.
Some simpler "move-combat" games are very well suited for this type of program. And it's very good for solitaire play too, if you have limited space.
