Gentlemen,

I have just come from the AoS Monthly parade where Lt.Gen Ned Simms has passed the command of XIX Corps to MGen Mike Dean. Gen Simms has been a Corps Commander in the AoS for several years having taken command of VI Corps when Gen Walter commanded the AoS and recently moving to XIX Corps after the AoS/AoJ merger earlier this year. I wish to thank him for his service to the AoS.

I also want to welcome MGen Mike Dean back to the command ranks. Gen Dean was commander of 1/VIII from 2002 until 2006 and I'm sure he'll do a fine job as the new commander of XIX Corps.

Hear hear. When we all started here in Spring 2001, I could have a-sworn Mike would be a corps commander by Fall that year at the latest, as he was rising like a rocket back then. Now it's just six years later ... [;)]

Congratulations!

Wow, there's a lotta brass! Thank you for the kind words, Generals.

General Miller, it has been my pleasure to serve under you all these long years. I especially enjoyed the Litton "blind" scenarios.

General Walter, I never figured that I'd outrank you. You've done as much for this club as anyone I know.

General Mishurda, I'll take you up on your offer. After this party, we should get together at the Winchester Arms.

General Smith, Shiloh will be the next HPS title that I buy. Until then, let's meet at Chickamauga!

Maj. Gen. M.G. Dean XIX, AoS
