If any of you are interested in this title then keep an eye on the Matrix website as the game has gone gold and the release will happen yet today or tomorrow. They are working out some issues with the digital download and as soon as that is resolved it will be released.
I would highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a strategic/operational level game on the American Civil War. It can be learned fairly quickly but it is going to take you a lot longer to master it. The game comes with video tutorials that will help with the learning process. As any of you who read my AAR can tell, the AI will really give you a good game. I'm going to propose to the Cabinet that this game also be added to the club lineup very soon. Let me know if there are any questions that I can help with.

Thanks Mark, will probable pick it up as soon as I can. I was able to get a DVR when I switched satellite providers and now record the History Channels program Civil War Journals. Today it was on Pickett's Charge, what bravery the soldiers had then not to say they don't now. Just in the way they fought, marching in formation shoulder to shoulder and facing the musket and cannon fire

Respectfully,

Gents,

this looks excellent. I have been sitting on the fence in regards of strategical ACW games. But this I think I will pick up.

OK, I saw the introductory video and it drew me right in. Digital Download and hard copy coming in the mail.

I have just set the game up and watched the first tutorial. Man was I lost! I feel like a little lamb in a big field. BAA! BAA! BAA!

I think the learning curve on this one is going to be tremendous. I'm having trouble understanding what all the icons even mean let alone move them.

Only criticism so far is that the tutorial screens are too small. As the narrator points and shows the information I can barely see what he is referring too.

You should be able to maximize your window to watch them. Are you watching through the game menu or the Programs->Start menu?

Mark: That was it. In order to see the tutorials properly you have to view them through the game engine. Looking at them in Windows XP with the Microsoft viewer makes them too small.

I wonder why they did that, because I don't have my screen resolution set that high. If I did the HPS series of games would look very small.

Like I said, the learning curve is going to be high but my first impressions are that it is a much better game than both AGEOD's product and "Forge of Freedom". The latter I had for about a year but gave up on it.

I know it's early to be thinking about this, but I think the club should seriously consider adding this game to our 'officially' sanctioned Civil War games.

There is a lot of buzz going on in the Matrix Forums about this game. I have been at it for a few days now (the learning curve is steep) but well worth the effort. In my opinion this game as all over AGEOD'S game and Forge of Freedom and those games are recognized by the club.

Just my two cents.

I'll try to get a proposal sent to the rest of the Cabinet shortly.

YO! I've been spending a lot of time over on the Matrix Forum Boards about this game. It is hot, and highly recommended.

In my opinion way better than Forge of Freedom and Ageod's American Civil War.

It's easy to learn but darn difficult to MASTER.

Back to fighting the entire war.
