Welcome, Lieutenant Elkin! Its good to see fresh, new faces coming out of the UMA and taking up their places in the Union field armies. I'm sure that the AoS will make you feel right at home.

It is sad to see the young ones pick the the wrong path of unionism[:D], but welcome anyway, have fun and enjoy yourself, because that is what this fine club is about

Brig, General McOmish,
Cam,

Sir, I've heard rumors that the Yankee's are using Shanghi style recruiting practices to fill their ranks! Obviously, they hit this fellow on the head a little harder that the others and he actually believes that He signed up for the Union intentionally!

Ah well... at least he's in General Miller's command. He might actually learn how to be a stand up Officer if he's not infected with Hodgkiss Disease! [;)]

Warmest Regards,

General Roger Hulinsky

Lt Elkin <salute>

Welcome both to the ACWGC and to the Tavern, also serving as the temporary headquarters of the Army of the Mississippi. If you haven't noticed General Hulinsky's warning, beware of my gator Nicodemus. He's tollerant of Yankee officers, however I hope you left a guard with your horse.

Gentlemen, Lt Elkin has bravely agreed to participate in the Lieutenant's Cup against a fine southern officer. For this, he deserves our respect despite his decision to join the Yankee army. I raise my glass in his honor!

To all officers that have commented, both North and South <salute>

Since I am a young "60", a smile crosses my face to be referred to as a "young one". Image

I hope to become a solid member of the community.

Welcome aboard. Always good to get new blood in the Union army. Glad to hear that you've gotten with hmmmm now <i>Lt Col </i>Neal Herbert for the Lt's Cup. Its a good way to get your feet wet in the club.

By the way, if its still there the next time I'm in the neighborhood I'll buy you a green chili cheeseburger and drink of your choice at the Owl Bar in San Antonio, NM. Spent 5 years of my life getting a Masters Degree in Socorro, know your present neck of the woods well.

When you get settled send me a courier and I'll provide a few documents that have not made it into the War College archives yet.

Dave, welcome! Let me just say a couple of things here. First, it is possible for you to achieve anything here you would like, there is nothing quite like an eager new member to get things going.[:D] There is no reason you couldn't become an Army Commander in a couple of years (Lord know the USA could use some fresh faces! Just kidding!)
2nd, this is just a great place to meet and get to know members from all over the world who share in their love for the ACW. Let me encourage you to also keep in mind to offer your fellow Union Officers a maneuver battle once in a while, it helps to get to know them better too!

If there is ever anything I might beable to assist you with please don't hesitate to contact me.

All the Best!</font id="beige"></font id="size4"></font id="Book Antiqua">

Being a transported yank, I only eat Red Chile. However, I am sure we kind find accomodations to both our liking.

New Mexico has not passed a law requiring I love Hatch Green Chile

Gen Kunz <salute>

I have been throughly impressed with the quality of the chaps in the barracks both North and South.

I appreciate the kind words from yourself.

(One goal I have is to get to Vicksburg to tour Civil War sites, also aiming to get to Pea Ridge)

Lt.Elkin: Welcome to the greatest Corps in the greatest Army in this club! You are most fortunate to be surrounded by some really talented players and veterans. Feel free to make their acquantaince and don;t be afraid to ask questions. So you;re 60? That's probably a fairly common age around here. I'm 62 myself so feel right at home!

Sir, it is my honor. As soon as I can dispatch some other pesky Rebs, I will happily tango with you at Gettysburg. I figure some time late this week or early next.
