Hi

I am looking for mods for the 2D Unit counters. I play exclusively in 2D and find the stock HPS 2D counters hard on the eyes.

I have a problem seeing the dismounted leaders in 3D myself.

OK, no answers thus far..

I do have some 2D Unit counters that may work but how do I map them properly to a game.

Lets use Gettsyburg for an example.

I have these from
http://www.brettschulte.net/ACWCGDC/thomaswulfes.htm

They are originaally designed for Corinth and are pefect for my needs.

The question I need answered is, can they be used ( as is ) in the other HPS games or do I nee to edit something?

Technically you can use those as per your example- the hitch comes as from title to title the OOBs will point to different locations on that type of graphic file so it is possible that occasionally you wind up with say, Reb unit graphics showing up on Union units and vice versa.

-wait- .. the above is for 3d ..

with 2d it shouldn't matter as the above (I am pretty certain) are always at the same spot on the bmp file.

The file I think that you are referring to is 2DSymbolsLg.bmp amd 2DSymbolsSm.bmp those go in the 'Map' folder of whatever game you want to change around.

John,

I just checked several games, Corinth, Getty and C'ville and they all appear to use the same 2DSymbolsLg.bmp and the ones from Brett's site have the same set up, meaning the same kind of icon is in the same location in all of them, only the graphics themselves are modified so they should be fine in any game.

You do not need to edit anything. Make a backup copy of the original 2DSymbolsLg file in the map folder just in case you wish to change back I make a dump folder in the games for this, it will also be on the original game disk anyway if you need it. Just put the new file in the map folder and they will work with all games.

Gents,

Take a look here: http://forums.gamesquad.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=65 and I guess you will find graphics files that will make the games look better, both in 2D and 3D [:)]

Is there someplace at GameSquad where I can recover my password? I have an account but cannot see a link to recover a forgotten password.
