It is my pleasure to announce that General Lars Wistedt has won the election for Union Cabinet Secretary by a vote of 36 to 23. Congratulations Lars! Also, thanks to General Mike O'Connor for volunteering his time and effort in running. Finally, a great deal of thanks goes to General Doug Burke for all the work he has put in over the last few years in serving on the Cabinet. It is much appreciated Doug!! This marks my final duty as Union CoA and I now pass command on to General Jeff Laub.

Congratulations to General Wistedt. You and the Cabinet as a whole has my full support. I'd like to thank General Burke too for all his work and commitment on our behalf. It is appreciated. I see my Irish friend is at the bar and buying so let's join him...

Thank you to all officers who threw their name into the hat as well as those who helped with the election.

Best of luck to General Wistedt as well.

Gentlemen,

My thanks to both General Wistedt and O'Connor. Having a choice always makes an election much more interesting -- and more interest equates to more involvement. Both help the club.

While we're on the topic, I'll buy a drink for outgoing Cabinet Secretary Den McBride. His tenure on the Cabinet covered the tumultuous period of the summer of '04, plus he stepped in and served as Interim CSA CoA for several months at the beginning of '05. He deserves a drink -- and a rest [:)] !

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory
