Officers of the Club,

Conducting a club-wide celebration of our 10-year history proved to be too much for me. I salute my division commander, Col. Harold Lajoie, for starting the second go-around of his shin-dig in honor of the anniversary. I hope everyone celebrated the occasion in his or her own way.

I did have the privilege of attending Tiller Con II in Kansas City, Missouri over Memorial Day weekend and got to shake hands not only with John Tiller himself but with several of the club members I have known on-line for years now. As everyone says who has ever attended any of our club get-togethers, the face-to-face meeting was the best part.

This month, the Cabinet performed the following official tasks:

1) Declared Nick Kunz’ Cabinet Secretary post vacant (in view of his election as CSA CoA).
2) Appointed General Jon Cuneo Interim Cabinet Secretary.
3) Approved several USA and CSA General Officer promotions.
4) Discussed readmission of an MIA officer. (Decided MIA is not necessarily the same as ‘involuntarily removed’, and the decision on reinstatement was left with the CoA.)

I had planned to appoint an election committee to oversee the selection of a permanent Cabinet Secretary to fill the remainder of Nick Kunz' term, but I dropped the ball on this a couple of times. Jon Cuneo has been doing an excellent job as interim, but it isn't fair to him to leave this hanging. Getting the election completed is my top priority for June. (Any Rebs interested in the position should review the Club Rules regarding eligibility and the election process and begin recruiting two nominators. I expect to begin this process at any time now.)

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory
