In a recent Smoking Room post I utilized some incredibly crass & inappropriate epithets for which I do now most sincerely & suppliantly apologize to the Entire Club, but most specifically, Gen Denis McBride who felt particularly identified, an unhappy mistake, as I was really addressing my thoughts to a wider group on that occasion & the "feeling-tone" I experienced while reading their compositions.

Tom, I missed your post over here, having responded to it in the Smoking Room, so I'll bring this up to date in order to make it known that the hatchet is buried, unless we can agree to use it to tap into one of yonder kegs.

I certainly do accept your apology. Things get heated and, as you've pointed out, something once said can't be drawn back. It's best to avoid that in the first instance but, when it does happen, we need to hope we've all got the capacity to learn, see a bigger picture and move forward. I value your apology and its sincerity. I hope you're around as a member for some time to come.
