Gents north and south, join me in welcoming the newest officer of the AoS, Lt. David Elkin. He's been assigned to command the First Brigade, 3rd Division, of the VIII Corps. First round is on me, but I expect that General Hulinksy, with his fat pay raise, will be along soon to welcome Lt. Elkin as well. (And drink up any that you boys leave unattended.)

Welcome Lt. Elkin

"General Sickles, this is in some respects higher ground than that to the rear, but there is still higher in front of you, and if you keep on advancing you will find constantly higher ground all the way to the mountains."
-Major General George Meade, Commanding the Army of the Potomac, July 2, 1863

General Hodgkiss <salute>

Thank you for your warm welcome. We are getting ready to engage the Rebs as soon as I can ready my command. Intelligence informs me that the enemy commander may well be the legendary "Tricky Nick DeStefano"!

Lt Elkin,

Welcome to the "Valley of Death", Sir! If you think Lt Colonel Nick DeStefano is tricky in person... just wait until you meet him on the battlefield! [:)] Have a great battle... Nick's a fine Officer!

As for your Corps Cmdr, I'd be very leary of him. He tends to leave large gaps in his battlelines and lets the enemy walk through his lines capturing Officer's and supply wagons at their leisure! [;)]

Warmest Regards,

General Roger Hulinsky

Gentlemen <salute>

Lt Elkin, again my regards and welcome to the ACWGC. I do want to thank you for revealing how the Yankees refer to "Tricky" Nick DeStefano lol.

General Thompson <salute>

It is always a pleasure to hear from the Chief of Staff.

With your permission and if you are not too tasked, perhaps we can meet up at Winchester after General Sheridan cleans out the rebs from Fredrick County

Kindest regards
