A new Eastern Theater Tournament

The first battle in the Western Campaign was the Battle of Belmont which was fought on November 7, 1861, in Missouri It was the first combat test for Brig Gen US Grant, the future Union Army general in chief ; Grant's troops in this battle were the "nucleus" of the Union's notable Army of the Tennessee. So our 150th anniversary tournament starts next month.

The details are as follows:

Western Campaign 1862 & Shiloh Sesquicentennial Tournament
Using the HPS Shiloh Campaign Game Front End - Campaign Shiloh Full
Includes Battles of Belmont, Mill Springs (Logan's Crossroads), Fort Henry, Fort Donelson, Nashville, Shiloh.

Start 1st November 2011 end April 2012 (You can start earlier if opponent allocated & there is time to buy HPS Shiloh if you do not own it).
Competitors to be matched roughly in line with OBD points
Rules by mutual agreement Battles to be registered on DoR. For Tournament scoring purposes (Rebs vs Yanks overall result) only the Campaign Result as determined in the game Campaign Conclusion is counted.
A lot of time is allowed for the Campaign Tournament and a number of battles of varying lengths are possible. The individual battle results are not required by the Organisor but should be posted to DoR. You do not need to have a full battle for each game - you can choose the "Use Expected Values" option, but then Cancel this option at the time of a battle to play out the battle in detail. In this way you can use the "Expected Values" to resolve a few of the relatively minor battles and use the "Cancel" option to choose to play some of the battles in full. The option is yours. I would encourage the playing of whatever the Campaign system throws at you as you are likely to encounter scenarios that you would not normally play.
