Hey brothers,

Can anyone PLEASE send me the wave files from the Battleground Talonsoft Gettysburg game? I loved those songs and I no longer have the CD.

kfitzmaurice@optonline.net

Thank you in advance.

Talonsofts BG Gettysburg :?:

Mine doesn't appear to have any music files anywhere on the disk. Should it have :?:

I think .WAV files tend to be large to send as a regular e-mail attachment. Did you have a particular way in mind?

Hmm, zipping helps but it's still quite a task. I just wondered that there must be a new fangled "easy" way to do it?

Anyway, I've started sending them to you individually and zipped ...let me know how you get on and I don't mind sending you the lot!

For those who like to listen to the music while playing here are some suggestions.

If you used the option to store the music when installing the program you can burn a CD with the files from several games on it and play that instead of the game music. If you wish to use some of the old BG music you will have to copy and rename the files first as those just had names like UbackG1 or CBackG2 and you will just over write files with the same name that are actually different tracks.

If you didn't put the music on the HDD you can copy the files from the game discs into a folder, changing names as needed and then burn a disc.

Another option if you are dealing with an HPS game and installed the music on the HDD and have plenty of HDD space is to copy the music from one game's Music folder to another's, this is not possible with the BG games due to the music file names noted above.

If you have a program that converts .wav files to mp3 you can do what I did, copy all the music files to a folder, convert them to mp3 files and either store them on the HDD or burn a disc with the mp3 files and you can have enough ACW music so that you you play for several hours without hearing a song more than once. This is also nice to have as background music as you read your ACW book, to load onto your mp3 player to use as you walk your favorite battlefield or to create a playlist of the marching songs for your daily walk.

Thank you for your input, one of your brother-in-arms already helped me with my needs.

Thanks again, perhaps your post will help another. :D

The re-release of BGG had music?! Woe to those of us who bought it in 1996 (in the original black box) we get no cover art and no background music! Let the wailing and gnashing of teeth commence!
