Gentlemen <salute>

General McOmish would have the final say, but any of you Yanks that want to wear your silky Victoria's Secret panties are free to do so as long as we don't get the pictures. :shock:

General McOmish sir {salute}

I would like to more seriously suggest for your consideration the "Frank Armstrong Tournament". 8)

Francis C. (Frank) Armstrong holds the distinction of being both a Union and a Confederate Officer (but not at the same time LOL :wink: ).

Col. Deano

General McOmish, Suh! <salute>

Might I suggest a term that was used in the 1860’s and still used in reenactor circles today for someone of either north or south affiliation donning the uniform of the other side; “galvanize” which is a term for a coating of zinc over a base medal.

Perhaps “Galvanized to Action” which is a play on both the term as a zinc coating and the older use of the term as an application of an electrical shock to induce a muscle twitch or an act to stimulate someone to action.

Not to change the subject, but what length of scenario are we talking about?

I am interested in participating in this tournament also. I will add quickly that I believe "Turncoat" does sound better than "Traitor", and both sound slightly better than "Cross-Dresser", but I am happy to play regardless which name is chosen.

Gentlemen <salute>

I could go with "Turncoat", although that and "Traitor" both imply betraying a trust by deserting your cause and comrades. That wouldn't be the case in this tournament.

I kind of like Colonel "Deano" Martin's suggestion along the lines of the "Armstrong Tournament".

Highest regards,

How about the Twilight Zone Tournament?

I am sure quite a few of us Southerns, after soundly beating the Yank, have thought, "the Union troopers could have come off better in that scenario if they only had our Officers to command them." This would be a great chance to see that widely held opinion reinforced. I will encourage our Army of Georgia players to participate.

Respectfully,

Cam,

Great idea but the name is a little offensive. How about the "Great Switch-A-Roo" or "Crossing the Lines" or "Changing of the Colors" or "Twilight Zone in the 1860's" or "When Johnnie and Billy got the wrong clothes back from the cleaners"

Hope this helps.

John

TO ALL OFFICERS OF THE ACWGC UNION ARMY

ANY UNION OFFICER RETURNING FROM THIS "TOURNAMENT" STILL WEARING THEIR PSEUDO GREY RAGS WILL BE SHOT ON SIGHT AND CONTINUED TO BE SHOT UNTIL IT CAUSES THEM TO FALL UPON THE GROUND AND BE DEAD!

Uh, knowing the way I am after a battle 8) , and assuming General Olinsky will let me back in Hancock's Tavern :wink: , it might be a good idea for me not to participate in this tourney. You can bet I'll be the one waking up in something Gray :oops: . Then with head hurting, legs trembling and stomach churning I'd be hiding out in every Tavern possible to stay out of General Meyer's way :mrgreen: . But everybody knows he'd find me and... :shock:

Deano - just leave the uniform on and come on over to the Grey side - we are more than OK with cross dressing :mrgreen:

Well General McOmish sir, {salute}

I appreciate the offer, I really do, but I find that gray and butternut chafe me a bit. :mrgreen:

Warmest Regards,

Col. Deano

Colonel Martin,

Sir, you are always welcome in Hancocks Tavern... regardless of who is looking for you! :lol:
