Gentlemen

A moments silence tomorrow, 13 Dec, to remember all the brave men whose lives were flung away or who were maimed between the Rappahannock and Marye's Heights 150 years ago.
Whilst not forgetting the lone assualt by Meade's Pennsylvania reserves on Jackson, Fredericksburg was the bloodiest day ever for the Irish Brigade, which suffered 75-80% casualties.

Gen Hancock is said to have happened on a Corporal and a private standing slightly apart from other troops at roll call after the withdrawal. "D**n you, fall in on your company" he called. The Corporal saluted.. "General, We ARE the Company".
Hancock returned the salute.

"Here's to us, and those like us. Here's to us and those we left behind" Unkown Cpl 88NYVI, 2nd Irish

Respectfully submitted
