I recently purchased HPS Campaign Antietam and I'm having trouble with the Old Banshee Graphics installation.

I got the file installed but some of the units are either showing wrong pictures or just a white box.

For instance, the Irish Brigade in the Historical Antietam battle scenario is showing Confederate soldiers standing in front of a Confederate battle flag. Some artillery units are showing a cavalry picture, cavalry showing infantry, etc.

I'd say about 50% of the units on both sides are having this problem.

Any idea what is causing these problems and how they can be fixed?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

I think lots of us have screwed this up at least once.

I do know if you place the new files in the exact same folder it works.

I have used the Banshee mods without problem..........but I have screwed them up on more than one occasion.

My suggestion is to uninstall the game and start over.

Hi. I hurried off to investigate and I'm afraid I didn't find any problem with the contents of the download.

I would hazard a guess that you put the new files from the download into the wrong destination? It sounds like you have the original OOB's with the new Bitmaps or vice-versa.

Make sure that you re-install the Old Banshee mod AFTER you install any official game patch too.

Send me a message at digglyda@btinternet.com if you continue to find a problem with your install and we will investigate further.

Well I tried all day to install the graphics pack and have failed. I've uninstalled the game several times, followed the correct sequence when I re-install, and seem to be extracting to the right folder.

From what I can tell, it seems the bmp files you mentioned aren't being replaced. When I extract the new graphics files a whole new folder is formed within the "Info" folder instead of replacing the leader and unit stuff like it should.

I'm getting really frustrated and guess I'll just play with the original unit and leader pics.

Don't give up, it's worth trying again. Probably the best way is to unzip the download to a folder of your choice. Then copy and paste the oob files to the Main folder of your ACW game and the content of the downloaded and unzipped Info folder to the Info folder within your ACW game. That's it. Hope it helps.

First…….save the Banshee down load to your desktop.

Second….open the downloaded folder “Antietam Graphics package”

Third……manually drag and drop the oob files from the “Antietam Graphics package”into the main game folder

Fourth……open the “info” folder in the “Antietam Graphics Package”

Drag “ leaders” and “units” (one at a time) from the "info" folder in the "Antietam Graphics Package" into the “info” folder in the game.

its that simple............thats how I did it and it works.

don't use the extract command.

ps.........remember to do this AFTER UPDATING TO LATEST VERSION

I followed the exact instructions and the graphics are there but yet again they continue to show Confederate units with Union graphics and vice versa, cav for infantry units, cav for arty, etc.

I appreciate the help but I don't know what else I can do here.

Well now ALL of my HPS games will not work.

I tried another re install of Antietam and now NONE of my HPS titles will run.

I tried to uninstall them for a re-install and the computer will not allow for some reason.

Antietam won't install either.

Very angry and annoyed right now.

have you tried installing original game to your desk top instead of your "C" drive?

Nothing happens when I put the disc into the drive. The install wizard doesn't run.

I tried accessing the disc directly by going to the drive through my computer and nothing happens there either.

I'm not sure what I did that messed everything up. I was going to attempt a clean install of all of my HPS games. I uninstalled Antietam and saw there were still some Antietam folders listed so I manually deleted them to the recycle bin. Then I tried to uninstall my other HPS titles using the add or remove program function using the control panel and I get the message "an installation support file could not be found".

My other HPS games won't function now either. When I try to run them nothing happens.

I tried returning the folders I manually deleted from the recycle bin to there original location in the C Drive and still won't run the HPS games.

Looks like I really screwed something up.

No.

I gave up.

Any new ideas on how to sort out the mess I made of it would be appreciated.

What is your operating system?
I am using windows 7.
Try this.
1) Put Antietam disk in pc.
2) Click start button on task bar click on computer option
3) Right mouse click on cd or dvd drive where the game is and select option open in new window.
4) Minimise window so you can see your desk top in background.
5) You will see a folder called Campaign Antietam while over the folder hold right mouse click button down and drag folder to your desk top you will be asked do you want a copy there click yes.
Now you have the game on your pc.
You now must update the game with the latest patch from the hps website.
When you have the patch downloaded select browse and find antietam folder on the desktop open folder and click ok. this will load the patch. Try out game if it works you have loaded the patch in the right place if it does not work then you have put it in the wrong place.
Then follow Dukematts instructions.

Drag “ leaders bmp” and “units bmp” (one at a time) from the "info" folder in the "Antietam Graphics Package" into the “info” folder in the game.

its that simple............thats how I did it and it works.

don't use the extract command.

Let me know how you get on.
