Most of my games I can play without the disc but I can't with Chancellorsville. Can anyone help me with a No-disc solution?

Make sure you have the latest patch. I think it is version 1.02.

I do not think that Chancellorsville has been updated to include the NO CD update.

AFAIK V1.02 DID NOT update that part. Many others of the ACW games have been upgraded to include NO CD.

I'm having the same problem with games installed on my laptop. Its OS is Windows 7 and will not run without a disk. My CPU has XP and will operate most of the games without a disk. I'm annoyed.

It couldn't be....

Jon Hooper!

We thought you were still trapped in some Yankee prison camp! It's great to see you again old friend!

I have no answer here. I have Windows 7 running and it never prompts me to put any CDs in to play anything. If everything is updated with the games and that doesn't solve it than maybe it's a Computer setting of some sort.

Drex, are you using Windows 7, Windows 8, XP? Sometimes that can make a difference.

Hello Blake! Yes, it is I! Those dastardly Yankees can't keep an overweight (though extremely good looking) and cranky old reb penned for long.

JTS started rolling out the no-disc in 2010 (partly that was due to th direct download distribution model). The last Chancellorsville update being from 2011- it would appear to be more of a documentation (or lack of it) issue in the txt file describing what was new to that update.

However I'll see if Mr Hamilton can pare a moment to provide some official verification on things.

1.02 removes the need for the disk, just an oversite on the readme file.

If it doesn't work for someone then the patch isn't applied properly. Make sure and use the "Browse" button to locate your proper install folder before unzipping the patch. Check "Help" & "About" for the version number when done.
