I have downloaded the new patch but after installing it I am still up on version 1.00. Does anyone have a hint for me. Other than catch a clue.

You have to make sure you either install the patch FROM the 1776 folder or make sure that the patch install file points to the 1776 folder. A problem WILL arise, especially if you did not install the game into the default folder and drive, usually Drive C:.

Tom,

You are aware that this is a "zip" file right? And that you must run it to unzip it into the 1776 directory, right? No offense meant, but I have seen several people who just tried to copy the file into their game directory, and that won't do the trick...

Let us know what happens.

Rich

I figured it out. I first downloaded the help file only thinking this was all I needed. I went back and downloaded the other file and now it works. What a difference this game is.

Thanks all.

Bill, John is trying to find a cheap copy of 1776 and 1812 that cheap bast.....

He likes the idea of fighting either with or against the Indians.

Tom, the cheapest place he is going to find them is probably on Chip's n' Bits. There's links for both the games on the club's Join up form. Glad to hear he will be joining us as well. The more the merrier!

Well if we're going to have both Gremmels in this club, I want at least one in Scott's 1812 US Brigade! We have a need for a good cannon cocker still.

I'll enlist as soon as I find the games. Might do that tonight, (order them at least).

Though I'm inclined to be a Yank. Which army needs warm bodies?

John,

The British Army is in need of members, they have about 12 members less than the Continentals.

John,

While what Ernie says may be true, it seems to me that more Brits are looking for fights than Yanks are, so you may have better luck finding an opponent as a Yank.

Either way, hope you enjoy the club!
