<Salute> Greetings French Officers and Gentlemen <Salute>

{Allied brethren stop sniggering I am trying to be polite}

I am fast becoming the master of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. Would anyone care to assist me in this quest?

I have no idea why I have chosen this particular scenario, I was just looking through the options and picked this one.

It would be nice to be challenged by someone as new to this as me but I am used to being beaten by senior officers. I may even be learning from them. :-)

Rules to be discussed.

It is unusual for me not to return a game within 48 hours, I often manage 24 hours. But some time work does throw a spanner in the works.

<salute> Humbly yours <salute>

<salute> Greetings,

At last a lieutenant challenges me :) But wait, it's another wolf in sheep's clothing

Ces't la vie :|

I welcome your challenge sir.

I propose; untick manual defensive fire, no reteat overuns, line movement restriction, multiple infantry melees and no melee elimination.

Skirmishers to stay close to formed units, skirmishers, supply and leaders not to be used to block lines of retreat.

Your experience is greater than mine so would welcome any variation to above that you suggest as long as it does not make it complicated, I am still learning.

I have recently seen mentioned embedded melee phase but do not see it within the options. Is it a rule rather than game mechanics?

Regards

Tony,

Ok I'll send you a message a bit later today to chat. I am not a rules junky, so no need to worry too much on that. Pretty easy going....

Tony, he is so easy going , that in my battle with him, French Horsemen vs the pride of the Netherlands, my lead scout saw him leading a troop of horses whilst wearing his house robe. Granted it had epaulettes on it and "Guillotines cut the waiting time" embroidered across the back. So French like ...

Quite like the truism "Guillotine cuts waiting time"

Am I allowed that thought ?
