Bonjour Lieutenant Wilson,

Its been awhile since I played waterloo so I'd be keen. If you want to pre-battle Ligny and Quatra Bras first I'd be keen and definitely commit to waterloo immediately after? Otherwise I'm happy to play Waterloo (Historical) or the Waterloo - Wavre (Historical) if your keen?

MOE IV rules, embedded melee, weak ZOC and other standard optional rules but also with two house rules -

1. No voluntary firing through own troops.

2. Artillery firing overhead of own troops allowed but must have two clear hexes in front of the battery and two clear hexes in front of the target unit.

Let me know what you would prefer. :frenchsalute:

On that artillery option, if the guns are on elevated terrain should they not be able to fire over the heads of the sacrificial lambs at the base of a hill or cliff?

That's why there is a two hex clear area required. they can still fire overhead but require a "clear" zone to the front to avoid causing own casualties. Not a perfect solution but a good compromise I think.
