I recently purchased "The Waterloo Companion" by Mark Adkin

It is a reference volume on the Battle divided into 10 sections discussing all aspects of the battle.

I am a fan of Mr. Adkin. he has published several reference volumes (I have the Gettysburg volume).

I thoroughly enjoy his work and recommend both books.

Wow, I would have expected a book on Waterloo to burn the hands of any avid Frenchman who held it, you know, kinda like Holy Water.

His significant other probably has to hold it and he has to wear sunglasses too.

Another book I recommend is Wellington, Years of the Sword by Elizabeth Longford, an interesting book and she describes the war in the Peninsular very well.

Probably not a book one reads ............front to back.

I am constantly perusing..........jumping from chapter to chapter.

I use it as a reference.............there are great stories and facts throughout.

I am making the attempt, but can't read anything except for the prologue text without using a magnifying glass...
