On the basis of the 2. Regiment proviosore Croate, 12. Division Francaise, 4. Corps, gen. Henri Gatien Bertrand.

Trieste, Croatia: 1800 men. :nappy:
Before the battle of Lutzen: 1400 men.
Before the battle of Bautzen: 650 men.

Approximately June 15 - July 4, 1813, "Reuthau" and "Niederzauche" villages, near city "Sprottau", "Silesia".
Today "Rudziny" and "Sucha Dolna" villages, near "Szprotawa" city, "Lubuskie"(Lubusz Voivodeship), "Polska"(Poland).
July 2nd, the regiment marched to the fortress Glogau (Głogów).

441 men at arms. :frenchcharge:
250 WIA.
304 patiens (ill, sick).

75 KIA in both battles. :frenchshock:
145 POW.
575 deserters, marauders.

Wow! That is a lot of deserters. Would not want to be the Provost in that unit.

The escapees, stragglers, deserters, etc., it was a typical phenomenon in the regiments on both sides. The soldiers looked for food, for example, etc. :wink:

True fact: the word "marauder comes from the Merode-Brüder, a name for Count Matthias Gallas' army during the Thirty Years War.
