Post subject:  Memorial Page

Folks,

As mentioned I am putting together a memorial page for members who have passed. The ACWGC has had one for a number of years now and the CCC & us here will have one soon too. I had kept tracks on various pages for years now, small dedications to those who have passed, but I wanted to create a centralized place.

What I am looking for is names of folks who were members who have passed on.

I currently have:

French:

Sam Dodson
Armando Russo
Warren Bajan
Juergen Massion

Austria:

Celamanka "Cela" Noftz

Prussia:

Jerry Butley
Bill Braddock

Anglo-Allied Army:

Richard Asher - I think I saw that somewhere before, if someone could confirm....

Please email me eric2900@aol.com or post here if you can think of anyone else.

Thanks!

Am thinking of a couple of people I know who have passed that are not on that list but maybe they were in a different club.

I do know I played one game in this club with a fellow from Spain .. he was YOUNG too and he passed. Sure wish I could remember his name. It was way back when the club was young.

Seems to me we lost one of our Prussian members that was in the club back in 2011-13 time period. Older fellow. Does that ring a bell, Scott? I think I played him in a few games. He had a hard time with the system.

BJ Schleuter (sp) played a lot of Age of Sail games with me when we had the NWC Navy. He was elderly (late 70s - early 80s) and lived in NJ. He dropped off the scene and I think he may have passed but I am not sure.

Thanks John! Based the thought off of the ACWGC one, which has been around for years. I started tending that page there this past year, that's why the idea was more prominent in my mind to do here and at the CCC than in years past.

Thanks too Bill for the input here & via email. :frenchsalute:

If anyone can think of others, please let me know! Going to look at old sites for the various Clubs if I can find them....

Was telling Scott that one of our Prussian officer members, Bill Drakert, had cancer back in 2013 or so and may have passed. Can anyone here confirm this?

He and I were not only playing Nap games but also Squad Battles and other WW2 games. Nice fellow who just loved the games.

He was a part of the "Black Menace" Prussian cavalry brigade.

Bill lived in Kingston, NY. He shared several of his vacation pics with me. He did a llama ride trip once with his wife out in the Idaho/Wyoming area.

Kingston, the first state capitol of New York state, has an annual celebration of when the British burned down the town (Oct 17, 1777 right after the Battle of Saratoga)! Bill would be part of that and gave me some of the background for it.

Really miss him and glad I got to know him.

If folks can think of any other names, please let me know. One was sadly sent along to me that I'll be writing another message about.

Thank you.
