Today is the 217th anniversary of the Battle of Marengo and and 210th for Friedland two of France's greatest victories. Marengo would mean the end of Melas's army. Friedland would bring the Prussians and Russians to the peace table. Both were hard fought affairs and will forever take their place in the annals of war.  Hmm, a great Allied victory is looming on the horizon but I leave that one for Herr Ludwig to post! |
