Russian Army in Borodino Panorama by Franz Roubaud

New Imperial Russian Army & Order of Battle

By order of Alexander I, Emperor of Russia, the Imperial Russian Army & 2nd Western Army Chief of Staff (CoS) Mayor Josh Jansen and the General Staff of the Allied Coalition, we are pleased to announce the elevation of the Russian forces to Army level status.

The new Imperial Russian Army, with an expanded order of battle takes effect today. Based on Prince Bagration's 2nd Western Army, the elevation back to Army level status represents the continued growth of the new and returning officers to the Russian forces in the Club. Adding to the growing fame & notoriety of Emperor Alexander's officer corps both on the battlefield and in the forums. The changes recognize the importance and success of the actual officer corps during the Napoleonic Wars.

Also, just as important, the restoration to Army level status is in line with the Club's history overall. From the Club's early days and for many years the Imperial Russian Army was organized around the 2nd Western Army. This returns to the historical roots of the Club, as we look forward to continued success for many years to come. It also prepares us for any potential recruitment opportunities with the coming Napoleon movie later this year.

With that said, leadership of the Imperial Russian Army will continue under:

Nice, what was the OOB based on?
Seems to mirror the layout in the French invasion of 1812.

A wise mentor recently said, "There are always more Russians... that's the thing with Russians."

I am glad to hear there are more Russians!

Thanks Mike & Christian.

Yes, it's 1812 based for sure. :) Not 100% Borodino, but the campaign overall. If we're ever fortunate enough, there's buildout options as well.
