Headquarters, Kiev Grenadier Regiment
April 7, 18XX

To: Coalition Army HQ
Dear Generalfeldmarschall Scott Kronprinz "Vorwärts" Ludwig von Preußen,

Allow me to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of my Regiment for the gracious acknowledgment of our recent achievements by His Imperial Majesty Alexander I and the Imperial Russian Army.

I must also acknowledge the noble conduct displayed by General Morgan in his gesture of offering a dram of the finest whisky in recognition of our efforts. Such acts strengthen mutual respect on the battlefield. In exchange, I would propose issuing an order across coalition arms to take special care when treating POWs from the 1er Corps d'Armée.

Furthermore, the additional provision of spirits by the 6th Jager Regiment, led by Shtabs-Kapitan Uwe Arndt, is deeply appreciated. The ritual of vodka rations consumption not only honours our achievements but also serves as a morale-boosting measure to reduce the effects of combat fatigue.

Upon being discovered by my men, the fusion of these two spirits resulted in an unmatched Russo-Scottish blend, combining the tenacity of lowland peasants with the bravery of the highlanders.
This unexpectedly led to a unforeseen outcome that drove the grenadiers into a berserk mode:

Indeed, as I observe the faces of my grenadiers, I can see the positive impact
Please convey our heartfelt thanks to His Imperial Majesty and assure him of our unwavering dedication to the service of the Empire.

With utmost respect and gratitude,

Well said General-Mayor Tartyshev,

I see that honour and respect are alive and well in the Imperial Russian Army.

I applaud your sentiments entirely.

We, in La Grande Armée are very much aware of how difficult it is to take Russians prisoner. However, in like manner I will guarantee that should any member of the Kiev Grenadier Regiment fall into the hands of the 1èr Corps, they will be treated with all due respect; wounds attended to, hunger sated, thirst quenched and at some future date, exchanged for a similarly ranked French prisoner. The latter of course only should they wish to leave our company.

General-Mayor, I salute you.

A very worthy award indeed Sir. Excellent to see the merits of this fine officer recognised and rewarded.

It is also enough to bring a smile to this crusty old cavalry officers face to seem the camaraderie between foes this award. We in the 23rd are always courtous to prisioners, although ging so far as sharing the rum ration is a thought provoking issue.

So, if we're mixing our drinks I'll propose this sailors toast
