Our correspondant in Europe reports that thousands of french troops are heading towards the Danube and the city of ULM, where a strong contingent of austrian troops are fortified. The aim of the french is to destroy them before they can join with an incoming russian army.

A special report from our correspondant in Germany :

The speed of french army's march makes it impossible for suppliers to keep pace with the Grande Armée that is often short of bread in spite of the commanders efforts. Fortunately, it is the height of the potatoe season, and there are plentiful in this area. How many times are the hopes of the villagers ruined. The soldiers are pillaging from them the fruits of an entire year's work. However, they are forced to do so.
