How come we do not make Anglo-Dutch, Anglo-Allied and include the Spanish and Portuguese? You have Dutch and German units, why not Spanish and Potuguese?

I think we have more players from Spain and Portugal joining if the Anglo-Allied Army inculded a few units, doesn't need a whole new Corps.

Wellington did have both under his command, even though everyone only remembers Waterloo.

Just some food for thought.

Lt. Wakeman,

Back in '99 a Spanish corps was organized based on Blake's victorious Army of Valencia, but I've lost track of what became of this corps.

There was indeed a Spanish Division attached to the Anglo/Allied Army up until about 2003 or so. What happened to it is that all of its members lost contact with the Anglo/Allied Army command and when the Army was reorganized about two years ago...it got left off of the new OOB, as did a number of old units that no longer had active players.

Indeed. Everyone was AWOL, so we disbanded it.

You know, it's rather funny ... a Frenchman asks why there isn't a Spanish unit in the British army, an Austrian and a Bavarian enlighten him about its previous existence, and a Prussian has vivid recollections of having been a member of it. [:D][:p]

Not surprising though, Dierk. As you know, you, Scott and I were all members of the Anglo/Allied Army at one time or another. I was actually Scott's training officer when he first joined up a couple of years ago...

As an aside, last month marked my fifth year in the NWC [:)][:p][:D][8D][:X][:I][8)]

Close....was never a member of it...2nd Line Bat. KGL was my old Anglo-Allied unit....[:D][:D] Now on its 2nd commander since me. Ah, the old HQ...I still have a copy of it somewhere and I think the KGL site I made too.....did that after I found an old one by someone previous to me.

But I do recall the Spanish on the OOB when I came....Ian Travers was still doing the site then.

Two years this Friday I believe Phil....two years...that's it...your on your fifth...hard to believe. I enjoyed our game, and I use it now to train my officers who come to the French Armee I command. Still have some of the old e-mails too. [:D] You switched right after we were done.

Hey Paul,

You want a twist...here's one for you. In my other club I command the French Armee...we have within us both units of Spain (a whole Division) and Portugal.....plus the Anglo-Allies there have a Spanish Corps too.

I may be in French Army, but I only joined as the German States were part of AdR.

I have fond memories of my times in Wiesbaden and Stuttgart.

It would be good to see the Spanish and Portuguese on the OOB even if unfilled.

Good stuff guys.

You would best be suited for our Rheinbund then...which has hordes of German units to choose from.

Never been to Germany, as of yet, but do plan on some point in my life. Ancestery is from the Schwarzenwald, and I want to travel there...and to many of the Bavarian Palaces.
