I would like to know:

1. Would unlocking the maps mean that you would buy MORE Napoleonic titles than you are currently buying? (this question doesnt pertain to those that buy every title - answer N/A if that is your situation)

Yes or No or N/A

2. If the maps were unlocked in all of the titles do you think that folks would buy just ONE game in the series, would tend to violate the copyright laws and copy the maps from their friends games and thus play all of the games using one disk. (this question does NOT ask if you would do this - as you are all members of an honorable club I will not even suggest that anyone here would violate copyright laws)

Yes or No

3. What impact on your perspective of HPS be if the maps were unlocked?

a. Greatly changed - I was really upset when the maps were locked. It was a dumb move I think and I didnt buy ANY of the HPS Napoleonics games as a result. If the maps were unlocked I would start buying most or all of the games as a result.

b. Moderately changed - I was upset when the maps were locked, only bought Eckmuhl so that I could play the modules that were put out by Stephane and others and didnt buy any other games in the series. If the maps were unlocked it would mean that I would start buying other games in the series.

c. Some changed - I wasnt upset about the maps being locked that much but seeing that HPS would unlock the maps and give the other guys a chance to play the modules using the latest patches would show me that they are concerned about their customers that like to play the modules and design them as well. This may or may not mean that I will buy more games but my perspective towards the company would be changed to very favorable.

d. Wont matter - I was not upset at all about the locking of the maps. Its HPS' property and they have a right to do with it as they wish.

4. This question has to do with the releasing of games. Do you feel that the game engine should be corrected in many areas before newer games are relased or that we could put out four titles a year and just continue to update the game at the same pace?

a. Fix game engine first. Then patch existing games. No new titles until engine is corrected in many areas.

b. Fix game engine in tandem with releasing one title a year.

c. Fix game engine in tandem with releasing two titles a year.

d. Fix game engine in tandem with releasing as many games as can be released per year.

5. How much does the artwork in the series affect your purchasing?

a. ALOT - I wont buy ANY games in the series as a result.

b. Much - I own some or all of the titles but ALWAYS use the new art packs that come out instead of the existing graphics. This impacts whether I buy a new game or not the most.

c. Some - I own some or all of the titles but seldom use the new art packs that come out instead of the existing graphics. This issue doesnt impact my buying of the games in the series.

d. Not at all - I own some or all of the titles but the artwork doesnt annoy me to the point where I would cease to buy future titles.

e. I dont own any of the HPS game for another reason such as the way that the game engine plays vs. Battleground, etc.

6. Would a game like Egyptian Campaign, Hohenlinden 1800, Suvarov's Italian/Swiss Campaign, Russian-Swedish War be a game you would purchase or do you just prefer to play the more well known campaigns?

a. Would NOT buy the lesser well known campaigns.

b. Would buy one or two of these titles.

c. Would buy ANY of these titles.

This poll is not affiliated with John Tiller, HPS or any other organization. It is purely my own idea and is meant to hear from you guys that either play the games or do not for one reason or another. This poll should not be taken to mean that a major change in the series such as unlocking the maps or major engine changes is pending at this time. Its to gather data so that I can better understand where the games stand with you guys the gamers.

Hello Bill,

I am sure You remember the old game Age of Rifles. That game had a
lot of good campaigns who had needed a Tiller remake. For example
all the Prussian Wars against France and Austria and of course
Friedrich The Greats Wars,Krim war and the Japanese-Russian war
but that one is perhaps more like a PZC title and same is the First
World War. So there is a lot of superb campaigns only waiting to be
made a game of them.
But will it ever be done,it looks like the Market like best The
Battle of the Bulge and Normandy.
Yes, for me good graphic is a must. In all HPS games I always
use Volcanomans graphic mods I can not play without them.

Napoleonic titles I am waiting for: Waterloo campaign and The destruction of Prussia.
Keep up the good work Bill!

1. NA

2. not sure

3. d. I understand why they locked the maps, though I wouldn't mind seeing a bit broader scope per game. (nb- when John decides the series has run it's course, he should put out a patch unlocking the maps

4. Release and update at the same time... 2-3 titles/year

5. d

6. c. I'd ABSOLUTLEY spring for Charles' Rhine Campaigns to boot. Though maybe a single disk game with lots of scns... like 1776... "Battles of the Revolution"
