Not sure if this has ever been thought of before but I was wondering about something..

Almost everyone here has some sort of batch file to delete *.XXX and *.YYY files in the HPS games....

Why can't the HPS games themsleves do it when you start the game ?

If you double click on single battle icon to start/continue a single wagram battle, the first thing it does is delete the current version of the PBEMAIL.XXX and PBEMAIL.YYY files....

Same for the campaign game and all other HPS games...

just spit balling here [:D]

(I had already think of that)[:)]
PS: john do you know if Malcolm (and you) receive my AAC turn?, there's often some delay, i don't know why but, especially with Britain, my messages to this country often remain in the server queue[?]

I always thought this was sloppy programming. If the game creates temporary files, it should go without saying that it also deletes them upon closing down, rather than let them lie around to cause trouble.

A good question to bring to Rich guys.

I am not sure why the files remain. Before I would use the term sloppy programming I would consider that there may be a good reason why the files remain. Take this one to Rich and see what he says about it.
