Can anyone tell me where the "Short Campaign - 14 October 1806" is? We have the folder "sc" for it but there is no CPD file in the main folder for it. The campaigns we have are: Scharnhorst's Campaign Plan - Alternate Version = Alt_Campaign.cpd Scharnhorst's Campaign Plan - Halle Var. = Big_Campaign.cpd Scharnhorst's Campaign Plan = Campaign.cpd Here Come the Russians = Russians.cpd In the notes PDF on page 5 the short campaign is mentioned: Short Campaign - 14 October 1806 This campaign offers the players the same setup that the commanders had as of early morning on October 14, 1806. Thus they can change their march routes as desired to bring about a different conclusion for this pivotal day in the campaign. Bernadotte can march with Davout and give him better numbers should he run into Brunswick's army or his corps can be ordered south to march with Napoleon. Each side has three choices. This allows for nine different combinations. Add in that the campaign engine allows for different variations of the same outcome. Thus up to 10 different scenarios can be played based on the same two choices by the players. This results in a high replayability factor for the players. |

I am going to add in the missing campaign file in the next update. I cannot believe that his has gone missing all of this time. I did a search in the .cpd files using Ultra Edit ... none of them use the scenarios in that SC folder. At first I thought it might stand for "Scharnhorst's Campaign" but no ... that is not it. Look for the campaign file to be available in the next update. Its easy to build. All of the campaign info image maps are done. Scenarios... etc. I just have to look over the images and see what the options were for each player. Each has three choices from what I am seeing. 9 total scenarios. Thanks for picking up on this. I am sure that I actually wrote a campaign file for this. Just for the life of me cannot figure out what happened to it. Note: some files were replaced ... they became "placeholders" with "text pointers" telling the customer where the correct scenario is located. I do not see any kind of a "placeholder" file in the main folder for this campaign. |

Somehow the campaign file was either never added in ... or it was overwritten (meaning it was one of the other campaign files). This has me scratching my head a bit as I definitely remember playing it. Its a "one battle" campaign. You make your choices and the game opens to a reduced map of the large Jena campaign map. Its meant to get the players right into the action and cut down the amount of turns played. Making up the campaign file will be a breeze. I just have to study the scenarios to see how the troops are allocated and then just create the three choices for each side, add in the text, create the image maps and I am done. Probably something I could do in part of a morning eventually. |
