Bulletin de la Grande Armée No. 2

Officers of the Grande Armée,
I am proud to share with you the advancements that the Grande Armée & the NWC has made since the summer of this year.

First thing to note are the new round of updates that the Napoleonic Battles game series received in August & September 2020. Not only were some optional rules added and some game mechanics improved, the series also received new graphics with a true 2D view and new icons that very much improve the usefulness of this view. In addition to this the display of division colors was improved, scenarios wise the weapon vales were aligned and the code letters expanded to allow for more weapons if needed.
This round of updates is again a testimonial how dedicated JTS software and all the involved people are and that this series will without a doubt stay the main pillar of the NWC in the coming decade.

But also the NWC itself improved step by step. We now have full support of the Seven Years War games from JTS & AGEod as we added "The Seven Years War" from the Musket and Pike series of JTS as well as "Rise of Prussia" respectively "Rise of Prussia Gold" from AGEod. This allows the membership to cover the Seven Years War on a battle & on a strategic scale and to register these games in the NWC.
Additionally we added new Recruitment forms that allow better handling of new applications. Should you know someone who, for any reasons, failed to be added to the club please inform him of these new forms that will surely allow for a falweless processing of his application.

The French part of the club also continued to improve.
First thing to note is that the French training is active again. A pool of trainer was formed and the first round of new members from this year are in training with one officer already having graduated.
Next to note are the several new forum sections that were added and to which the content of the Pierre's Tavern was shifted if it fitted. This allows everyone to find specific things better but also to browse better through the French forum section. I encourage everyone to use and contribute to them, especially the section "Bureau des Renseignements" for intelligence about Allied officers, the section "Archive des Rapports Après Action" for after-action-reports and the section "L'Ecole Spéciale Impériale Militaire" for improving your own but also the knowledge of your fellow officers, especially the new ones.
Besides these points improvements in regards to the French medals have been done and will be done in the next year. This will mean some more awards will appear to cover some missing aspects like maneuvers & MP games, but also adjusting requirements for existing awards to make the use of them easier.

Last but not least let me mention that John Tiller Software is holding a Winter Sale.
Till 31st December all titles that have been out 12 months or longer are on sale for $29.95. This is a good chance to expand or complete your collection of Napoleonic Battles games.

Gentlemen, let me wish you happy holidays and a good start into the new year. I wish you all that 2021 brings you only the best. Vive la Révolution! Vive la France!! Vive l'Empereur!!!
