Paul Doumer Bridge, what went wrong?

I lost only 1 F4 for a 100 point penalty, I completely destroyed the bridge 100% only 1000 points awarded for that, 7 enemy Migs downed 250 points, knocked out a SAM radar for another 100 points, rescued my downed pilot for 50 points, successful recon for 250 points. Everybody home safe. Add it up, even without the loss of the 1 F4 it still adds up to a Major US defeat. Frustrating, scoring makes no sense to me. So far between this scenario, and Arc Light, Major US defeats go unexplained.
