Departures:

GL Bill Peters has departed the ranks of the Prussian Army to form the Austrian Army and to kick start the Naval Arm of the NWC. Bill continues to expand the horizons of the club, making it a better place to game and relive history. We wish him well.

Other officers have left our ranks due to personal commitments. We hope to see them again one day.

Some officers had to be deleted for failure to communicate with the Army Staff. The General Staff would like to remind officers that it is imperative to communicate with your commanding officer at least once a month, even if you are not currently involved in any games. The Staff expends much energy on keeping track of all it's officers and this communication helps greatly.

Returns:

The Prussian Army greets once more it's "Saxon" officer, Sam Orlando who spent a short stint with the French Army. Herr Orlando, after much soul searching, realized the best hopes of his people lay with the Prussian Army! :) Welcome back Sam. Herr Orlando will take over command of the 5th Brigade of II Armee-Korps in the wake of the departure of GL Peters.

Officers of the Allied Coalition,

There have been major changes in the Prussian Army command structure since we last communicated. General Major Bill Peters resigned from the NWC to pursue his game creation activities and I, Generalmajor Michael Wolf Gjerde have assumed command. In addition, I Korps commander Oberst Sam Orlando has been turned by the dark side and has left the Prussian Army for a post somewhere in the French Army of the Rhine. My elevation and Sam's removal has opened the command of the two Prussian Korps for two very fine officers. Oberst Heidar Karlsson has taken over command of the II Korps and Oberst Andrew Naujoks has taken over command of the I Korps. Both are excellent officers and have been a great help to me in my duties running the Prussian Army. O. Karlsson has been in charge of the new and revamped Prussian Army web pages http://prussianarmy.napoleonicwars.com/ and O. Naujoks has been in charge of updating our Prussian Officer Quarters player statistics http://prussianarmy.napoleonicwars.com/poq.htm. Great jobs done by both of them!

And finally, Generalmajor Bill Peters has un-retired and rejoined the Prussian army as commander of the 5th Brigade, II Korps. GM Peters was awarded the first and most honorary Medal of the Prussian Army, Orden des Schwarzen Adler (Order of the Black Eagle)! Check out the medal and award at the site:

GM Peters founded the Prussian Army and led us from its creation till May of 1999. A job well done and again welcome back.

Best Regards,
Generalmajor Michael Wolf Gjerde

This month saw a flurry of promotions for the Prussian officers The following officers were promoted with the new rank in front of their name: Lt. Col. Mauro Crestini Major Steve Takacs Capt. Richard Housgate In the Summer Tourney I am getting game files from from Adam Vakeiner and Steve Takacs at a regular clip! They are moving along nicely in their struggle for the cavalry to seize and hold the Utitsa mound. More tactical tips are available for any Allied player who wishes to get the URL from me! This is for Allied eyes only!

Two French officers defected to the Allied side this month. We are happy to welcome Lt. Albert Amos and Capt. Scott Cameron. Both have been assigned to the Prussian First Brigade under my command. A special thanks to Ulrich Humpert is in order. He located a picture of the Iron Cross worn by Prussians during the Napoleonic wars. I hope to have the new award displayed on the web page soon. We will have a new medal for those who excel in enhancing the web page. This medal was awarded during the Prussian War of Independence (1813-1814) and will be given out to those who contribute to the administration of the Prussian Army.

The Prussian army has seen 4 promotions. Mike Gjerde made Major, Sam Orlando made Captain, Mauro Crestini made Major and I made Lt. Col.
Two Prussian Summer tourny games ended. Major Crestini beat me at Blucher's Bluff and Lt. Takacs beat Brevet Capt. Brandsma. The Prussians have lost each time so I am going to adjust the scenario to make it balanced. The second round will start this month with another new scenario from NIR. This time the Cavalry Clash in an attempt to hold the Utitsa mound! All of the cavalry at Borodino will be used and all of the horse guns as well! A dream come true for Marshal Murat!
We saw heated action from Captain Sam Orlando as he beat me at the Death in the Fleches scenario which we played in 3 days! All files for the most part were sent via ICQ. A real quick way to get a game over real fast!
I will now be awarding medals for those who win a Major victory over a French opponent who is defeated at a scenario that I would rate as balanced against the Allies. I will be putting out a list of the scenarios so you can go for the gold!

Also of notable mention is Lt. John "Bucking for Promotion" Egan who submitted some hints on play for the Allies! We appreciate his efforts and will be looking forward to more entries from him.
All Allied officers are welcome to visit the Allied discussion board to see my tactical tips I will updating each month. I received a lot of good feedback from officers on last month's entries.
Updates to the website were a special history section for each brigade and medal icons by each member that has been awarded with the Military medal!

Keep up the good work Allies!
LTC Peters
