Bulletins de l'Armée du Nord

His Excellency
Maréchal Steve Peluso
Général en Chef
La Grande Armée

Mon Maréchal,

My compliments and herein is submitted for your consideration l’Armée du Nord’s Muster and General Report for the period of January through March '03.

I. General Report

It is with sincere regret that I must announce the retirement of GdD Juan Ríos as commander of the Ier Corps de Réserve de Cavalerie. In honor of his long, distinguished service I am recommending that he receive the Order of Napoleon. The reins of command, however, have passed into the capable hands of le Comte de Besançon, GdD Peterson and his new Chef de Etat-Major, Colonel Malcolm Cumberlidge. Gen. Peterson has established a spacious new headquarters at http://www.geocities.com/irescav/index.html which I commend to everyone’s attention. The I Cav will also be reorganizing its order of battle so as to incorporate some light cavalry to conduct reconnaissance and picket duties. To accomplish this, the 3ème and 7ème Cuirassiers, together with the 6/4 and 4/6 Artillerie à Cheval, will stand down, to be replaced by the 14ème and 15ème Chasseurs à Cheval, thus creating a light brigade within the 3èmeme Division de Cuirassiers.

I am pleased to report that le Comte de Vienne, Jon Thayer, has received a richly deserved baton and been promoted to the rank of Maréchal.
