I can't seem to find my key to The Southern Raiders. Could I borrow someone's key, please? LOL, not mine Sir. Those people from outside the Confederacy are not welcomed as they could easily be offended by what some of our more raucous Members say at times. No matter, I know from personal experience... |

Please disregard the above post. I had some time, so I've posted in Souther Raiders. Other CSA Members may care to add their own tips there. |

Post this in The Southern Raiders War College and I'll try to offer some advice.
I will not answer it here. |

There's not a lot more to report just yet as it does require the dedication of time to progress through it. I've made a few attempts at the full campaign (entire war), but they have been short-lived. All were aborted only a few months after Fort Sumter was taken. I was unable to attract many to join... |

" However, I do feel that the casualties from any scenario are far too high to be realistic." I think part of that is we fight our units way longer than real life, Playing Campaign games or Long Battles forces to pace yourself Also if you turn off faster recovery rates a Unit deep into Ye... |

No actually when you select the rules WE select default. Most of the time we deselect the Artillery Capture, however. So Rout limit is off. Ahhh, I see what you mean now. As you have 'Rout Limiting' deselected it is more critical to consider morale (and the factors in the games that effect the Mora... |

Them Yankees sure do like to run. "Give them the cold steel, boys!" (Lewis Armistead) [Note: routed units have their defending strength divided by four. Don't tell the Union Members, LOL.] _____________________________________________________________________________________________________... |

Thanks for that interesting video. However, I'm not convinced that Mr Smith was accurate when he described confusing orders from General Lee (starts at about 7:40) ordering Ewell to march to "either Gettysburg or Cashtown as circumstances dictate" . That didn't sound right to me. I looked ... |

The slider provides a bonus to the selected side in fire combat and in meleeing bridges. Each notch on the slider gives that side a 10% bonus (which is quite significant). Given the significance of the bonus the slider should not be moved unless you have a clear agreement from your opponent to do so... |

I agree with Blake. The answer to your specific question is 'no'. The numbers of casualties should not alter no matter depending upon where a unit is in the stack. However, the effect of those casualties upon a specific unit can vary. It's generally to do with fatigue. A large low graded unit will n... |

How long does it take to fight a battle like First Bull Run or Pea Ridge? Each one took me about three to four hours. Bigger battles with more units (e.g. 1st Manassas [Regimental]) will almost certainly take longer. You can, of course, save the game at any point and come back to it later. I've bee... |

Great summary, Paul. I have been interested to try that game but still haven't. RTS games are always a conundrum for me. The A/I can "cheat" by sending an infinite number of orders to an infinite number of units at a single time. Meanwhile we humans can only go as fast as we can move the ... |

Thanks for the report Paul. I've been curious about Grand Tactician for some time. I had also been curious for a long time. Most of the more comprehensive reviews are a few years old now and refer to things and bugs that no longer appear. I had shied away from it because it is real-time and that gi... |

In part, this is a follow-on from the thread 'Could A/I Consistently Defeat Human Players?' ( https://wargame.ch/board/acwgc/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=23493&hilit ). In one post Blake asked "Is Grand Tactician any better?". That was asked six months ago but I can now say the answer is 'Y... |

I still like the Ted Turner cameo in the movie. Always a fun easter egg. If I was a powerful celebrity I'd probably put myself in all my movies (and all the others I could). Much like Hitchcock, all the movies would become a sort of "find Blake" contest. Here is Hitchcock leaving a store ... |
