At our last Officer's Ball I was quite amused to see our own Lt. Gen. Lawrence Bertolino with one of the local belle's dancing the night away. Bertolino than took the young lady to a high point above Vicksburg to view his ship docked several hundred feet below. Bertolino related some of his more "modest" exploits to her from his time spent at sea. The girl then replied, "And is all that water at sea level or does it go up?" The old general, befuddled, simply shook his head and walked away. |

Well that's the way a southern girl shall be! Some what uneducated then they are more easy to handle! |
