To all of you former bubbleheads, the Navy has commissioned a new sub. Rightfully named the SSN North Carolina, the fourth ship to carry such a fine name [:D] The city of Wilmington,NC is trying to get the formal commissioning ceromoney held here next to the Battleship U.S.S North Carolina. Salute. Respectfully, Brig. Gen. Gery Bastiani 3rd Division, II Corp, Tarheel Division AotM "If there is a shell or bullet over there destined for us, it will find us" - General James Longstreet |

General Laub Suh, That explains it, four years on a sub will do it every time. An uncle served on the SS Gato, SS Drum and SS Albcore during WWII. While my dad was a tincan sailor retired as a Chief Torpedomensmate. He was the hunter, and ya'll was the hunted [B)] Respectfully, Brig. Gen. "Actually BT there are only two types of vessels. Submarines and targets." Reminds me of a naval game I was in several years ago. I asked a team mate what kind of ship was it that we were targeting. His reply, "the kind that sinks." [:D] MajGen Al 'Ambushed' Amos 3rd "Amos' Ambushers" Bde, Cavalry Division, XX Corps, AoC The Union Forever! Huzzah! |

General Amos, General Driscoll, didn't mean to hurt ya'll feelings in refering to former BUBBLEHEADS [:D].Surprised Col. Quick didn't pipe in [:p]. But General Driscoll you are right about once a Chief always a Chief. Same as once a Seabee always a Seabee. Retired in 97 as a UTC, served from 71 till 97. But I did spent time on a supply ship for six days on the return trip from McMurdo Station Antarctica to Christchurch,NZ. As for the BT part I worked for a boiler service company from the time I retired till now. But left there and now work for the Pender County School system, working with boiler and galley equipment.
