Gentlemen: There was a memorial monument dedicated to the late Colonel Thomas Ringland Stockdale at his home in Summit, Mississippi. Stockdale served in the 16th Mississippi Infantry Regiment and the 4th Mississippi Cavalry Regiment. I believe he was in Forest's Command for sometime. After the Civil War Stockdale became a lawyer, was elected to the U.S. Congress, and appointed to the Mississippi Supreme Court. Salute. Gen Dave Danner Army Commander Army of the Cumberland |
