Attention All CSA Officers: It is official, we now have the Whitworth Sharpshooters Medal. It is simple to earn and it is base on the cummulative point totals of Capturing, Killing or Wounding a Union Officer during a BATTLE with a Yankee Officer from up North during each quarter. It is quarterly base and that any BATTLES that ends within that quarter is eligible to enter. (ONLY BATTLES WITH YANKEE OFFICERS ARE ELIGIBLE) This program will be over seen by the designers Gen. Willie Tisdale and Col. John Newton of VMI. If you have any questions concerning this program please contact them. They have made it simple for you to post your totals by going to the following link (that was designed by Gen. Quick and Gen. Stewart). http://www.acwgc.org/ACWGC_CSA_Sharpshooter/ The first quarter started January 1, 2008 and will end March 31, 2008. The Medal/Ribbon will be issued by the Commander of Army at the end of each quarter. So now when you complete your battle – find the highest captured, killed and wounded officer and submit them. You can enter multiplied battles within each quarter but only the highest Union Officer that is why you need to enter the game number as well. The score keepers will add your totals up and present the name to Commander of the Army for presentation. This award can be won numerous times by the same person this includes the officers from VMI. So let's have some GOOD hunting out there and start reporting those numbers - we already received a few that has reported already.
