Post subject: Campaign Antietam coloured icons.

Gentlemen and Ladies I have just put up on my site the bitmap file for coloured icons in Campaign Antietam.
Go to http://www.americas-civil-war.com/SENAR ... LOADS.html
Scroll down the right hand side and click on the Campaign Antietam link. This will ask you to save a zip file in this zip file you will find a units bitmap file and all the oob's from the game also a readme file to explain what you need to do. These have been altered to allow coloured unit icons for infantry, cavalry and artillery. ALL UNITS HAVE THEIR NATIONS FLAGS in the background.
Enjoy and lets have some feedback.

What is altered in the OOB's? Is it necessary to use the altered OOB's with the new units file?

As you may or may not know HPS have locked the oob's so one cannot change things like adding more icons which Rich knows I would like to do. I would like to have a bigger icon file like the one I use for Corinth 1:01a. Now with this title and a few others hps designers have used the same icon for both sides the odd infantry unit but more so the artillery units mostly use the same unit icons. Ken Millers unit icon bitmaps use the original oob's but you only get artillery and supply units which are used for both sides. What I have done is this. The oob works with some sort of check sum so if you alter any number or add anything, the game will not load properly. I have come up with a way around this. All I have changed is a few well a lot more than a few of the unit icon id numbers.
Example: 10 artillery units are numbered 27, 27, 27, 28, 28, 28, 28, 29, 29, 29 blue = usa, red = csa unit icon 28 being used by both sides. If I change 2 of the 28's to 27 and change 2 of the 28's to 29 I now have 27, 27, 27, 27, 27 and 29, 29, 29, 29, 29 The checksum still gets the same number when it checks the oob and the game works. I know I am sad guys but I love seeing the battle flags behind the units and untill John and the boys at HPS unlock the oob's I will have to do it this way. If you use the original oobs with the new unit bitmap some of the units will have the wrong unit picture showing. Is this any help Ernie? This in no way has altered anything else in the game but how the graphics look.

Tell John we love him and we would love him a lot more[:D]
Again I ask
In Campaign Chickamauga there are 8 oob's
Chickamauga
Chattanooga
Murfreesboro
Perryville
and
Chickamauga (Alternative)
Chattanooga (Alternative)
Murfreesboro (Alternative)
Perryville (Alternative)
Am I right that the only difference between the two sets of oob's is that the (Alternative) ones have skirmishers?
Also I can alter the troop strength the same way as I have done the unit icons but what about the names? Does a,b,c,d represent numbers like 0,1,2,3 a being 0 and d being 3 if so can I change names around just thinking out loud.

Gen Mullins Sir! <salute>

Frank, I finally got the nerve up to try the colored leader icons, very impressive! It is really adding to my gaming enjoyment with the leader icons, the unit bitmap files and adding Bill Peters graphics.

Keep up the great work that all of us can enjoy!
