Post subject:  May, 2008 Cabinet Report

Officers of the Club:

My apologies for the lateness of this report. May was a very busy month for the Cabinet and I expected June to be so, too. The sudden quietness caught me entirely off-guard and I've been thrown off by all the stillness! [;)]

One thing that came up during May was concerns regarding the security of the Department of Records (DoR). The DoR is an intrinsic tool to our existence as a gaming community, and a vital part of our Club.

To put everyone's mind at ease: This data system is controlled in the same way data systems are controlled in most companies. We have a capable Administrator in Ernie Sands, coupled with a full backup of the site itself and a routine for the periodic and regular backup of the data that gets entered independently available to the President of the Club. This backup has existed for some time, and has been discussed and approved by the Cabinet.

If Ernie won the Powerball lottery and moved to a tiny island to watch hula girls and sip beverages while he lounged poolside, the DoR could be reconstituted without needing him at all.

Hope this clarifies this item.

In other actions, the Cabinet handled the following:

1) Approved 5 CSA General promotions (7 ‘for’ and 0 ‘against’).
2) Considered a Club Rule change regarding OBD Admin points for Advanced Training Academy Commandants (1 ‘for’ and 4 ‘against’, 2 ‘abstain’. Voting FOR: Willie Tisdale. Voting AGAINST: Jeff Laub, Mark Nelms, Ernie Sands, and Bob Weir).
3) Dealt with a personnel matter. (Due to possible sensitivity concerns - for instance, accusations of cheating - all strictly personal matters are kept private.)
4) Considered a Cabinet Policy change regarding DoR backup procedures. (6 ‘yes’ and 1 ‘no’ – Bob Weir dissenting.)

As always, if you have any questions about this report you may either reply here or send a courier to my HQ.

Your humble servant,
Gen 'Dee Dubya' Mallory

Very enlightening as usual...but don't give Ernie Sands such ideas...maybe the hulu girls OR a beverage, but not both together [:D]

Thanks always for your efforts and time on our behalf.
