Gentlemen: When trying to load the campaign games from my master disk, I get an error message: "Failure to Create Primary Surface". The games do not load. What is going on here if anyone can tell me. Thanks for your help. Jim Gleason LG 4-2-I AoP |

Load from master disk are you installing or playing from master diks. What Operating system are you using. Do you know that you can just copy all the files from the cd to your HD(HPS) folder and play you do not need to install each game per se as long as you have all the files. I guess if it is the very first game you will need to install to get the latest directx drivers. What does LG 4-2-I AoP translate to. I know that military men like to use abreviations. Hello Pierre, I have all the HPS files on my hard drive. I run the games (all of them HPS and TS) from a single master disk. For some unknown reason, after having operated this way for years, I now cannot open the HPS titles from the common disk. Strange. Jim Gleason LG 4-2-I AoP |

From a help file: "This could be a memory problem, if your computer doesn't meet the minimum system requirements of the game. If your system has sufficient memory, then there may be a problem with your video driver. You should update your video driver to ensure you are running with the latest version. You can do this through the Windows Update feature of your operating system (usually found under the Start menu). You can also do this by checking the video card manufacturer's web site. If the game does meet the minimum system requirements, then there may be a problem with DirectX or a DirectX-related setting that needs to be changed." Ernie Sands General, Commanding, Army of Ohio ![]() ACWGC Cabinet Member ACWGC Records Site Administrator |

Jim, If you have been using the same disk to run all yours games it may just be that the disk has gone bad[xx(], try starting a game with the original game disk if that works then I'd make a new master disk and chuck the old one.
General R.A.'Bob'Weir CSA Eastern Theater Commander ![]() ACWGC Cabinet Member
|

Thank you all for your suggestions. It is intriguing that the problem exists only with the HPS titles. I tried running the titles from the original disks. I got the same error message. There is plenty of memory and also all the drivers are up to date. I had been using the disk and the machine since I got it a little while ago. This evening I will try reinstalling all the titles. If one works after reinstallation, I will follow it with the others. My apologies to my opponents who are awaiting files. Jim Gleason LG 4-2-I AoP |
