Last Friday, May 1st, General Derald Riggs requested the officers of the Army of the Cumberland to assemble on May 4th, Monday (today), in the Woodin Injun Tavern for a special awards ceremony, the Uniform of the Day to be dress blues and white gloves! Many dignitaries are arriving and all visitors are welcome!

Sounds like a good gig - if Gen Bastiani is going there must be free drinks. [8D][8D] I assume I can bring my horse into the bar[?]

Generals Bastiani and McOmish,

You and all of your warrior brethren are, of course, more than welcomed to this special event, and it will be good to see two, well-heeled Southern gentlemen taking in the scene and adding to its overall impressiveness. But the horses will, regrettably, have to remain at the hitching rails.

As I understand it, the whiskey to be served this evening is that recently taken from the Army of Georgia's leader, General John Dragan, by our own General David Danner in their recent clash; not as good, perhaps as the richly tasting Chateau de Goat, but imminently satisfying for the circumstances under which it was acquired!

Well if your letting Generals Bastiani and McComish in why cant the horse come in too? The horse smells better and at least he is wearing shoes.[:D]

Well if it isn't my ole tavern raider partner, Bubba McOmish. As for shoes ours are spit shined to a mirror finish and I take my weekly shower even if I need one or not [:D] Can't say the same for some of you Blue Bellies, "we can hear you coming for three days and smell you for four" [:p] So how about those free drinks and Hordeeovers I'm a little hungry after that long ride up here to O-HI-O

Col. Brewster,

You are forgetting, Sir, the discovery we made in our examination of captured Southern mounts some years back. It wasn't the horses per see that were so offensive to indoor activities; it was the wretched stink that was coming off those saddles!

Sniffing saddles is just plain weird, although it could depend on how much drink one had onboard[?]
