He doesn't like Grant or Sherman either. He mentions Sherman being a roommate of Thomas in their first year at the Academy but Sherman makes no mention of this in his memoirs, only that he was the plebe assigned to his fellow townsman, Irvin. Sherman makes a point of name dropping all during his Memoirs ,so it can only mean that he definitely had it in for Thomas. I don't buy into his theory that Grant or Sherman or both falsified records!
