Post subject:  Full Melee Defensive Fire?

Say an artillery battery comes under close assault in a HPS, Phase-based mode game with the Full Melee Defensive Fire and Automatic Defensive Fire options active. Can the battery conduct both normal ADF and then full melee defensive fire in the same turn if they are meleed? And in the latter case is it the guns that are fired or the crew strength that is computed?

Nope, the special fire before melee optional, Full Melee Defensive Fire, rule was added to help fix Turn based play. In phased play all you get is Defensive Fire and the optional rule has no effect.

Shame on me for not reading the thing a little more closely! But that's not the only option that's mode specific. It'd be nice if HPS could tweak the Option Selections so that only those that are applicable to the mode selection are viewable. Might make things a bit more simple for guys like me.
