Sirs:

I have been away from the ACWGC for a while now but that does not mean that I have not been playing the games (mostly the Talonsoft games). Just a few weeks ago my computer died the big death and I am now reloading all my software and data on a new Windows 7 system/machine (my old system was Windows XP Pro.)

I loaded Shiloh Campaign and it all seemed to work great until a long distance friend wanted to play. I started the game, set up as host for Direct-Play Host. My friend set up his game as Direct-Play Caller and, after a bit, got the error message "Error establishing system as caller". We then switched and he set up as Direct-Play Host and I set up as Direct-Play Caller and I got the error message "Error establishing system as caller". We both fought with this problem for a few hours, doing such things a turning off our fire-walls and such but could not getting anything but the previous error message. Anyone have this problem and more important do you have a solution?

Second issue:
Today I attempted to get into the ACWGC web page since my computer died and, after getting a new pass word for my account, did fine until I attempted to get into the office of records. Seems that my passwords do not work. Can I get a bit of help on this issue also?

Thanks, Jerry

Regarding the error on your attempt at trying Direct Play. Don't have any experience with Windows 7 but when I tried to play the games using direct play on my home network with my XP machines several things had to be done to get them to work.

If you are using a firewall you usually have to tell it to allow exceptions then select the game .exe file for each game you want to play using Direct Play. Had to do this on both machines.

If you have a router you may also have to tell it to allow access as they often have a built in firewall of their own.

I once had a note from Rich Hamilton explaining what is needed but I have not been able to locate it on my pc or any of the forums. If someone else has it might be a good idea to get it posted here as a sticky.
