With the upcoming release of Abe Lincoln: Vampire Hunter I feel it necessary to emphasize that we southerners are not, nor have we ever been, vampires.
This is just pure Yankee imagination.
We may appreciate nibbling on a woman's neck but thats about as far as it goes
One does have to be amused with the idea of turning slaveholders into vampires that feast on slaves though. If the story was about Native American vampires feasting on settlers than there would be an outcry about the book/movie being culturally insensitive. But, once again, we poor southerners become villified in the media for the sake of Yankee entertainment.
